Pool mosaics present an excellent way to elevate your pool to the next level.
They can provide a personal flair to your pool; something that showcases your personality or your sense of style. Or it can be an artistic piece picked by the whole family, turning your pool into that shared space that everyone had a hand in making “theirs”. Or, simply, swimming pool mosaics can be an eye-catching design to enjoy every time you go for a dip.
And now, pool mosaic tiles can also light up your pool every night in a dazzling display: introducing Element Glo’s glow-in-the-dark pool mosaics!
About our Glow-in-the-Dark Pool Mosaics
Element Glo swimming pool mosaics are 100% hand-crafted right here in the USA! Each mosaic can be considered an individual work of art, since they are individually made and NOT mass produced. For this reason, each swimming pool mosaic has some slight variation adding to the overall character of each piece.
Instead of being made of ceramic or glass, these mosaics tiles are resin-based and use colored glow-in-the-dark pigments. Not only does this make the pool mosaics extremely durable, but it also makes the tiles softer to the touch. To keep the pool tiles safe, Element Glo pool mosaics are shipped with a clear, protective layer that can be removed after the troweling process. They also arrive pre-assembled to a mesh backing for easy install.
How the Glowing Mosaics Work
Every Element Glo mosaic tile design is infused with high-quality phosphorescent materials or glow-in-the-dark particles.
Thus, during the day, these pool mosaics work like any other pool tiles; they rest under the waves, adding that lovely pop of color and style. At the same time, the phosphorescent particles are charging up and absorbing energy from any light source, specifically the UV rays.
If you want to charge up your glow-in-the-dark pool mosaics to 100% for greater brightness, you can shine a UV light on the product for 30 seconds. However, for the best results, you could also install the NUVO-Glo UV Light System. These underwater lights beam at 365 nanometers and will charge the tiles to 100% in 15 seconds. For more information about these lights contact us :)
When the mosaic pool tiles release this stored energy, it makes them glow in the dark!
This process will repeat itself every day for the lifetime of your pool’s surface, giving you the long-time fun of a glow-in-the-dark swimming pool mosaic.
Applying the Tiles
To ensure proper placement, the swimming pool mosaic tiles adhere to a mesh backing with a waterproof adhesive. This mesh backing also helps with fusing the design to wherever you want the design to go but should be installed before the pool finish is added.
Once the pool finish is installed, the mosaic tiles will lie perfectly flat against your pool’s surface, and it is almost impossible for the tiles to be dislodged.
After removing the protective sheet from the mosaic, you are ready to let them charge up and then watch them grow.
Incorporating Glow-in-the-Dark Mosaics in Your Pool
When it comes to swimming pool mosaics, the possibilities are almost endless. Even a few designs can be used in a variety of combinations or placements to create something uniquely you.
Even still, let us share a few ideas with you.
Starfish and Seashell Step Markers
Bring the joy of walking along the shore and spotting the shells and small wildlife right to your pool’s steps.
With a variety of starfish and shell mosaics, you can make the staircase as diverse as the great wide ocean. For instance, you could use the aqua Starfish Bubbly design on the left side of the staircase and the Starfish mosaic on the right. You could cover each row of your steps in alternating shell mosaics, like the Conch, Cerith, and Nutmeg shells. You can even just stick with your favorite sea life mosaic out of the bunch and use it to mark each step.
This is a great chance to show off your style: do you enjoy the chaos in the variety or like the structure of patterns?
Importantly, since these pool mosaics are also glow-in-the-dark, they can help illuminate your path at night. The glowing starfish or seashells (or both) could prevent tripping on hard-to-see steps. No more missing a step you could have sworn was there.
Ying Yang Dolphin Medallion for Your Spa
Many people step into their spa or hot tub to relax and think about their day. It is a good time to be reflective on both the good and the bad.
This makes the Ying Yang Dolphin Medallion glow-in-the-dark mosaic a perfect symbol to add to your spa’s floor.
Yin and yang describe how all things are interconnected, that even contrasting forces can be complementary and work together. Hence, there is not one without the other, so no good without the bad.
It is represented by the way one dolphin lights up in a brighter green at night while the other is a deep blue, and the two colors swirl together in the middle, creating something beautiful and unique.
Perhaps this makes you contemplative or makes you think about the light and dark forces at play.
Or, perhaps, you simply enjoy the design. It is an eye-catching piece that is sure to strike up a conversation when you invite someone into your hot tub.
Sea Life Swimming Along with You
There is already so much joy in swimming beside your sea life mosaics, but there is something extraordinarily special when the mosaics are shining beneath the surface.Dolphin pool mosaics racing along the edges of your pool, creating a hypnotic look beneath the waves. You could light your pool up from the bottom with the large Swimming Turtle glow-in-the-dark mosaics. Again, you can create a diverse world of glowing wildlife right in your pool.
Children especially are sure to enjoy swimming with the glow-in-the-dark sea life mosaics. With their imaginations, they are sure to dream up multiple stories about the mosaics in your pool, explaining how they only glow at night.
It can also be a great way to get your children more comfortable in the water at night. The glow-in-the-dark mosaic pool tiles will give them something to focus on and something exciting to swim towards. For example, a few pool mosaics around the pool’s walls would highlight where the edges are for them, which might make them more comfortable.
In truth, these are only a few of the many possibilities available to you for incorporating the Element Glo pool mosaics into your pool or spa. You can pick several designs, or you can put several of the same pieces over the entirety of your pool. It is all up to you!
But regardless of how you design it to fit your style, these glow-in-the-dark mosaics are sure to add that special touch to your pool or spa.
